About the artists:

S.Sowmya, a former disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr.S.Ramanathan and Smt.Muktha, is currently under the tutelage of her father Dr. M.Srinivasan. Sowmya has been conferred with many titles and awards, including Isai Peroli, Sangeetha Kala Bharathi, Nada Oli, and Nada Bhushanam. She has won concert awards under various categories from the Music Academy, Chennai, consecutively between 1986 and 2001.

Kalpana Venkat began her training on the Violin at the age of six under the tutelage of her mother, Seetha Kishore, a vainika. Over the years, she has learned from seven different Gurus, the latest and the most notable being Sangeetha Chudamani Smt.T.Rukmini, who is renowned for the classicism, refinement, sensitivity, and aesthetic appeal of her music.

Neyveli Narayanan began his Mridangam career with Sri.S.K.Ganesa Pillai. He made his debut at the age of 11. He has had intensive training under the Late Maestro Thanjavur Sri Upendran. Narayanan currently learns from Padmashri Umayalpuram Sri K.Sivaraman.

The Venue: 

The Recital Hall is located just behind the O’Shaughnessy Auditorium  in the campus of the College of St. Catherine (2004 Randolph Ave St Paul, MN 55105-1750). 

Driving Directions: 

Enter College of St. Catherine through Gate 5 on Randolph located between Cleveland and Fairview. Gate 5 is nearest to the intersection of Randolph and Prior Avenues. The Recital Hall is located right behind the better known O'Shaughnessy auditorium. Parking is free after hours and on weekends.
