Nayan Ghosh
Pandit Nayan Ghosh is one of the most well-known
Indian classical musicians today, being the only
artiste to have equal mastery over two diverse
instruments – the Sitar and the Tabla.
Having performed extensively in India and around
the world, he has been one of the important
ambassadors of traditional Indian Music for over
50 years now.
Over the decades, besides being a popular soloist,
Nayan-ji has performed with master musicians like
Ravi Shankar, Vilayat Khan & Amjad Ali
Khan as also world musicians like Terry Riley,
Yosuke Yamashita, Kazumi Watanabe, Kidd Jordan
& Paul Grant to name a few.
He was awarded the prestigious ‘SANGEET NATAK
AKADEMI AWARD’ by the President of India in 2014,
the ‘Achievement Award’ by Gray Davis, Governor of
California in 1998 and was invited by President
Jimmy Carter for a special concert in 2016 and
felicitated by the President himself.

Ishaan stands out as a front-ranking young Tabla
player of India, having received intensive
training from his father, the renowned Tabla and
sitar maestro, Pandit Nayan Ghosh.
A child prodigy, over the years, he has carved a
niche for himself as a full-fledged soloist as
well as a co-artiste, having performed with
stalwarts like Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan,
Pt. Nayan Ghosh, Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Kaushiki
Chakraborty Purbayan Chatterjee among several
other India & international musicians.
Ishaan has regularly presented his music to
audiences in India and the world over at
prestigious venues and music festivals which
have won him critical acclaim and rave reviews.
He was awarded with the ‘Baba Allauddin Khan
Yuva Puraskar’ by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh in
2012, the ‘Achievement Award’ by President Jimmy
Carter in 2016, the ‘Rising Star Award’ in 2019
and the ‘Kalashree Samman’ from Govt. of
Maharashtra in 2020.
